Day trips by train

from Füssen train station

How about a trip from Füssen station to the big cities of Munich and Augsburg? There are lots of great family activities in both cities. In Munich, for example, you can visit Hellabrunn Zoo, the German Museum or Bavaria Filmstadt. In Augsburg, the famous Augsburger Puppenkiste or Augsburg Zoo are well worth a visit. Or how about a trip to Lindau on Lake Constance? Here you can climb a lighthouse or take a boat trip, for example. All of these places can be reached by train from Füssen station in around two and a half hours.
A popular offer for families is the Bayern Ticket from Deutsche Bahn.
Sections of the route are included in the allgäumobil route network in the Schlosspark. These routes can be used free of charge with the FüssenCard. If you want to plan an excursion by train within this free route network, you can reach the honey village of Seeg, for example, after a journey time of around 20 minutes. Here there are many experiences to do with honey bees. You can find timetable information on the Deutsche Bahn website.

Day trips by bus

protect the environment, save time searching for a parking space and save money!

Take a look at the allgäumobil route network in the Schlosspark. Here you can travel by bus free of charge with the FüssenCard.
The bathing lakes are particularly popular in the summer months and finding a parking space is often difficult. Füssen's districts are very well connected by bus. For example, you can reach the Weißensee lido or Hopfensee lake directly from Füssen train station.
A bus trip to Pfronten is also worthwhile. If you travel to Pfronten Ried, for example, you can visit the knights' playground and the ice cream parlor there. Or if you take the bus to Nesselwang, you can easily reach the Alpspitzbahn and all the associated experiences.
The bus connections from Füssen train station in the direction of Buchenberg, Tegelberg and Hohenschwangau to the famous royal castles are also very convenient and therefore a popular alternative to your own car.
