With this music festival, the city of Füssen cultivates its historical heritage: Füssen is regarded to be the "cradle" of European lute making and later has become one of the centres of violin making in Europe and has thus achieved outstanding significance in the history of music. In addition, the Benedictine monastery of St. Mang was the cultural center of the Füssen region for centuries. Today, the baroque rooms of the former monastery house the Museum of the City of Füssen with a high-quality collection of Füssen instruments and the Kaisersaal is the venue for the festival vielsaitig.

The festival's concerts take place in the central Baroque hall of St. Mang, curated by Julian Steckel and offering exceptional concerts with chamber music, jazz and contemporary music.
