Füssen in the Middle Ages

Guided tour of the old town with battlements

Experience the golden age of Füssen's town history up close! Your guide will take you on an exciting journey and tell you what it was like when the Habsburg Emperor visited Füssen almost forty times. Find out what everyday worries the citizens of the medieval town had to contend with, where the medieval hospital was located and where the corn market was held. Did you know that there were witch burnings in Füssen? You will discover all this and much more on this tour.

The route is variable and takes you to fascinating places such as Schrannenplatz with the Kornhaus and Stadtvogtei, the town wall at Sebastian's cemetery, the Bleichertor, the Heilig-Geist-Spital (including a guided tour inside), the Lautenmacherbrunnen at the Brotmarkt, the inner courtyard of the Hohes Schloss, the ravine in the Baumgarten and the dyers' houses in Rittergasse.

From May to October, you can also walk along the battlements and enjoy the impressive view.

Important: Make sure you are sure-footed and wear sturdy shoes. Dogs are not allowed and the tour is not suitable for wheelchair users.
