The Weißensee
Around four kilometers west of Füssen in the Allgäu lies the Weißensee lake in the middle of a nature reserve. Numerous aquatic creatures such as whitefish, zander and pike, as well as swans, great crested grebes and coots can be observed here.

Activities at Weißensee
In addition to several smaller bathing areas on the northern shore (for example below the Weißensee parish church of St. Walburga), the large bathing area on the western shore of the lake has a gently sloping bank, sunny sunbathing lawn, kiosk and children's playground. In keeping with modern Kneipp teachings, a Kneipp treading pool and an arm pool as well as an exercise trail have been installed right next to the bathing area. The kiosk with terrace offers refreshments.
Due to the location of the Weißensee directly on the mountain, the lake is also very popular with windsurfers, who particularly love the morning winds. However, as these winds die down again around midday, Lake Weissensee is also perfect for a round on a stand-up paddleboard (SUP). If you like, you can try out this trendy sport and hire a SUP from the rental shop at the bathing area. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can use Lake Weissensee as a fishing spot.
At the Friedl farm , you can not only cast off just a few meters from the front door with the farm's own rowing boat, but you can also store your catch safely in a specially provided freezer.
